Dataw Island was recognized by Travel + Leisure Golf magazine as one of “America ’s Top 100 Golf Communities” in the publication’s January 2009 edition. Dataw Island was one of only 13 South Carolina communities awarded this distinction by the publication.
The selection process by Travel + Leisure Golf editors included: cost; amenities; master-planning of communities; and location. Dataw Island was chosen due to the community’s affordable, unique mix of golf, activism, topography and other amenities. This is the first time Dataw Island has been recognized by the publication.
