HOT SPRINGS, VA – From falling leaves to the first snowfall, The Homestead is making the most of its spectacular Allegheny Mountain setting with a host of family-friendly events and packages that celebrate the change of seasons. Cherished traditions return and new ones are born as the cooling temperatures transform the grounds surrounding America’s most historic resort first into a glorious display of autumn foliage and then into a winter wonderland. And throughout it all, 3,000 acres of recreational delights beckon with endless opportunities for outdoor fun.
The festival spirit is alive and well this autumn at The Homestead, thanks to an all-new Family FallFest that will bring seasonal food and fun to the resort every Saturday evening. Starting Sept. 19, from 5 – 8 p.m., this weekly event promises to become a new Homestead tradition and includes a Fall Harvest dinner, face painting, pumpkin decorating and family games. Prices are $27 per adult and $13.50 for children 6-12 (those 5 and under are free). Tax and service charge are additional.
The Unlimited Activities Package invites guests to plunge into the family fun with complete abandon. Guests enjoy unlimited access to The Homestead’s myriad recreational diversions: mountain biking and fly fishing, golfing and gorge hikes, paintball, falconry, horseback riding and more. The resort’s famous Jefferson Pools are also included in the package, which is offered through Dec. 22 based on availability. The nightly rate starts at $275 per room and covers accommodations and all activities for two people. Additional adults and children over six are welcome to share the room – and the fun – for an extra $50 per person per night. Activities must be booked in advance.
From visits with Santa to halls decked in their festive finest, the holidays at The Homestead are a cherished tradition. Families can enjoy a very special Christmas in the mountains with daily activities designed to delight guests of all ages and generations. As the weather cools, The Homestead’s expansive grounds transform into a winter playground filled with opportunities for fun in the snow: ice skating, skiing, snowmobiling and more. Indoors, special holiday crafts and cooking keep spirits bright.
Capping off the season is a New Year’s Eve spectacular that includes dining and dancing at a choice of two celebrations: Mo’Sol will fill The Grand Ballroom with Motown, funk, soul and hip hop music, while the ever-popular Radio King Orchestra brings its big band sounds back to The Homestead Dining Room. Holiday season rates (nightly, room only) start at $325 for Thanksgiving, Nov. 24-28; $295 for Christmas, Dec. 23-28; and $325 for New Years, Dec. 29-Jan. 3.
